Plant TV

Plant TV was a 2-week experiment in April, around the beginning of lockdown in the US. I used Open Broadcasting Software (OBS) to live stream novelty plant related content 24 hours a day. The production included the use of old cell phones as RTMP cameras pointing outside at trees or at seedlings starting inside, contributions of plant pictures and videos from friends, original Greta Thunberg ascii art and other animations by me, generative background music from an open Ableton session, and a QR code for people to join a zoom room with the suggestion that they point their camera at a plant to be featured live on Plant TV, and for that plant to watch other plants, relieving the owner of the device from lockdown doom scrolling.
